Currently reading. About halfway through, and so far this is the LEAST SUITABLE cover design for a book I’ve ever seen.
Which I am considering a positive thing.
BTW, told jokes at Subterranean in Wicker park tonight before a 17+ music show started, which was fun in a “what little audience there is is talking by the bar, so you won’t be able to see them, and they’re not paying attention, and even if they did laugh, it would be so quiet compared to everything else in the room you would never hear it ever in a million years, so just tell your jokes expecting absolutely no discernible response in return” kinda way.
Then I spent all of my money on falafel sandwiches and coffee that didn’t make me feel better about myself, but were distracting enough I guess

This is good too. They’re playing in Chicago next week. Not sure if I’ll be there… but song metaphorically blows up the moon of my brain’s music lobe in any case

Haven’t posted on tumblr much lately. This is good. I haven’t stopped listening to music, I just have been keeping it a secret.

This is another good one. “Papa’s Roses” by… uh… “Jandruff,” which I’m guessing is one of those fake internet names people like so goddamn much these days

Hi tumblr, I’m up late, and I’ve been reading Geek Love and it’s pretty awesome, and a lot of cool internet people have done cool art for the internet based on the book. Here is some.

So I did this recently Tumblr: I wrote out a standup set that was the same, word-for-word backwards and forwards. Sort of like a palindrome, but with words instead of letters. Then I performed this standup set in the basement of a bar in Chicago. And people seemed to dig it! My introduction got a bit cut off, but here is almost all of it, if you’re interested in listening. Thanks!

Love the crazy costumes old Plague Doctors wore back in the middle ages.
“some doctors wore a beak-like mask which was filled with aromatic items. The masks were designed to protect them from putrid air, which (according to the miasmatic theory of disease) was seen as the cause of infection”

If I could pinpoint one thing in all of ever that has influence my sense of humor and overall temperament, it would be achewood. The perfect blend of deadpan humor and absolute soul-numbing depression.
just like life.

So we live in Chicago now, and got jobs a few weeks ago. I actually have two jobs, but have not been paid anything for either one yet.
It’s frustrating maaaan, here we are in this cool city, but I’m flat broke and don’t know anyone, so I don’t have much to do apart from wander around Belmont Harbor and try to throw rocks at yachts.
Comedy open mics are okay fun if you don’t have money- but especially if you like hanging around in bars for three hours drinking ice water.
I could see my apartment building in this photo, maybe, if you took some of the buildings out of the way, or maybe leaned out of a helicopter.

Reading “I Shall Destroy All The Civilized Planets!” by Fletcher Hanks. Man, this stuff is RIDICULOUS.
